Tea Tree Essential Oil has been used in Australian Aboriginal medicine for centuries. They use it extensively for its antiseptic properties.

Those antiseptic qualities as well as its effectiveness against bacteria mean that Tea Tree is often used in hospitals in the fight against bacteria and viruses. It is 11 to 13 times as strong as carbolic acid.
